Kristin started off by saying everyone is getting ready forspring break in Osceola County Florida and asked Jeanine what arethe dates? Jeanine replied that the St. Cloud school spring break2002 is March 11th through the 18th and thestudents go back to school on Monday, March 24th.
Jeanine added that the dates are the same across Osceola Countywhich makes it easy for everyone. Kristin said that they thought itwould be a great idea to talk about some of the things people cando during spring break. There are a lot of people who don’tlike to travel far so this is for you!
Kristin asked Jeanine what are her favorite things to do forspring break? Jeanine replied that besides St. Cloud, we are in agreat location being so close to Disneyworld and all the Parks.Jeanine started with WildFlorida Safari Drive-Thru Park. Her grandson calls this park,Africa because of all the wild animals that they have in the park.At the end of the drive-through, there is an opportunity to feedthe giraffes. The park is close to St. Cloud located inKenansville, FL.
Reptile World Serpentarium In St. CloudFlorida
Another wonderful place that Jeanine mentioned to take the kidsis the Reptile World Serpentarium. It is a reptile zooin St. Cloud, Florida. It features more than 75 species of snakes,as well as lizards, crocodiles, alligators, and turtles. It isoperated by the herpetologist George Van Horn.
They also happen to provide a large amount of anti-venomnationally. Kristin added that if you have never been, you must goat least once. They milk the snakes and take their venom right infront of you. It also happens to be inexpensive and highlyeducational. They have been around since the 1970s.
Jeanine then brought up the Airboat rides. You have MarshLanding Adventures on Neptune Rd in Kissimmee, Florida. It is alot of fun to take these rides and see the gators. This makes for agreat day trip for the people who are not leaving the area.
Jeanine asked Kristin if she and her family were travelinganywhere for spring break, and she said not. She is not a fan ofgoing where a lot of people are going. Kristin likes to go toTreasure Island on the West Coast of Florida where the water is alittle warmer, the sunsets are amazing, and the beaches have thatpowdery sand.
Jeanine mentioned WonderWorks on International Drive in Orlando. Theyhave all kinds of activities for the kids including laser tag. Thefacility is huge it would be easy to spend a day there with thekids.
Swimming With The Dolphins Is A Once In A LifetimeExperience At Discovery Cove In Orlando, FL
Then, of course, you have big names like Disneyworld, and theyhave two waterparks themselves called Typhoon Lagoon and BlizzardBeach. If you go to SeaWorld, they have DiscoveryCove where you can also swim with the Dolphins there. That is aonce-in-a-lifetime experience. You also have Aquatica water parkwhich is a part of SeaWorld.
Kristin then added Volcano Bay which is a water park and part ofUniversal Studios. This is her new favorite place to visit as herkids love it. Jeanine asked if it was better than the two waterparks at Disneyworld and Kristin said she thinks her kids like itthere probably because it is newer.
Kristin also brought up Florida residents who have Theme Parkpasses which makes it easy to visit for a few hours as oftenas you like. Jeanine mentioned that they offer Florida residentsspecials throughout the year as well on the park passes for thefamily.
Jeanine said that all these places she and Kristin mentioned aregreat for the kids during St. Cloud Florida school spring break2022. Jeanine said that there is plenty to do here locally if youare not planning on traveling for spring break.
Barbara Corcoran Will Be A Guest On Discover St.Cloud’s Upcoming Podcast
Once spring break is over, there is what’s called“Battle at Narcoossee Mill”. That event is heldon March 26th and 27th. It’s starts onSaturday the 26th at 10:00 AM. Jeanine stated that thereis a lot of history to take in there and it’s a wonderfulexperience and educational as well. Kristin added that it is areenactment of the battle at Narcoossee Mill and if you are new tothe area, it is something that you want to check out andexperience.
Kristin announced that in a couple of weeks that she and Jeaninewill be having a special guest on the Discover St. Cloud Floridapodcast. Kristin asked Jeanine who that guest might be? Jeaninesaid that it is going to be her sister, Barbara Corcoran.
