Jeanine kicked off the first event on August 1st. It is aKids’ Flick, and it is free for children 12 years of age oryounger. The featured movie is The Incredible 2 which is rated PG.This event will take place at the community center on17th Street in Saint Cloud.

Kristin then announced a Food Truck Frenzy on August2nd which will feature the Saucy Spoon and Sweet RolledTaco’s. This event will happen at Lakeshore Park at BuckLake.

Thrive Thursday Featuring Health Cooking Demos AtHopkins Park St Cloud FL

Next up Jeanine announced will be Thrive Thursday on August 3rdfrom 6:30 – 7:30 PM at Hopkins Park. This event will featurehealthy cooking demos. Attend to find the path to being healthierand happier. This event is put on by Parks and Recreation, you canemail them for more information at parksandrecreation@stcloudfl.gov.

Kristin then announced a Pencil Bag Sewing Class on August4th at Southern Roots Antiques at 4:00 PM. They inviteyou to come and create your own back-to-school pencil bag. Ages 7years and up are welcome and no prior sewing experience is needed.All sewing machines and supplies are provided along with a $35 feeper person. Give them a call at 407-480-7888. Hero For Kids on August 5th from 11 – 1 PM atthe Staples Parking Lot Jeanine announced where they will be givingaway free backpacks. This is such a great event for families inneed.

Kristin mentioned the next event which is the Back to School Bashon August 5th from 11-2 PM at Hopkins Park put on byParks and Recreation. If you want to register in advance, you cando that and receive a free backpack. They will have food, games,music, a bounce house, haircuts, educational information, schoolsupplies, and more. Sparkle Dance Day At Moon Light Dance Studio In SaintCloud

Jeanine announced the next event is the Sparkle Dance Day. Therewill be free dance classes for ages one through 4 years of age.There will be cupcakes, teddy bears, and sparkling dance. SparkleDay will give you a chance to check out their twinkle star danceprogram and see what classes will be like for the fall season. AnR.S.V.P is required as spots are limited. It will take place onAugust 5th at 9:30 am is the time slot for the 1and 2 years olds and 10 AM for the 3 and 4 years olds. Kristin then talked about the back-to-school sales tax holidayso certain clothing, footwear, and accessories with a price tag of$100 or less per item and certain school supplies with a sales tagof $50 or less per item are eligible. Osceola County Back To School Open HousesBegin

All School's open houses begin on Monday, August7th. All high schools are included starting with OsceolaCounty School for the Arts grades 6-12. The open house will be onMonday, August 7th from 4-7 PM at your local highschool.

Tuesday, August 8th is all middle schools and K-8schools, and they will hold their open house from 4-7 PM on thisday. On Wednesday, August 9th all Elementary schoolswill have their open house from 3-6 PM. This is the day beforeschool starts.

Thursday, August 10th is the first day of school andthere are some bell changes to be aware of. It looks like themiddle schools and high schools are the ones with changes. They aregoing to start at 9:30 AM, as they were at 9:20 AM last year. Go toyour schools’ websites and check for all start and stop timesfor each day.

Jeanine stated the next event is Adult Matinee Movie“Red” starring Bruce Willis on August 16thfrom 12:30 – 2:25 PM at the Community Center which is on17th Street. The cost is free.

Downtown Saint Cloud Florida SidewalkSale

Kristin said the next event is the Downtown Sidewalk Sale onAugust 19th. The annual downtown sidewalk sale is from10 – 2 PM and is held in Downtown St. Cloud. You will find alot of end-of-summer markdowns and clearance items from yourfavorite downtown shops.
