Being so close to Thanksgiving Jeanine started this podcast offby giving thanks to the people who live in the Harmony community. She talked about the timeKristin’s daughter went missing one Sunday morning and howwithin a 30-minute window people all over the community weresearching for her and communicating on Facebook. Kristin’sdaughter was found quickly and ended up being with hergrandfather.
Jeanine also mentioned a time when a local man withAlzheimer’s went missing and the entire community again cameout to help in the search communicating their findings on socialmedia. He was found and okay thanks to this amazing HarmonyCommunity!
Currently, in Harmony, there is a food drive for the local foodbank, and it is being collected by the students of the HarmonyCommunity Church. This is a local church here in Harmony. Theymeet on Sundays at 10:00 am at the Harmony Community School. Theyare doing the food drive through November 17th. You cancome to the Church to drop the food off or go toHarmonyCommunity.church and put in a message and they will come topick up the food.
Harmony Fall Festival At Lakeshore Park
Sunday, November 14th is the Harmony Fall Festivalfrom 2 – 5 pm at LakeshorePark. There will be a pumpkin patch, food trucks, a hayride, abounce house, a DJ, a petting zoo, and more.
Friday night, November 19th starting at 6:30 pm therewill be a movie night in Town Square. The featured movie will beFreebirds. There will be food trucks and remember to bring yourchairs as well as bug spray if it is warm.
To add to the local holiday festivities on Friday night December10th from 5:30 – 9:00 pm there will be the HarmonyWinterfest in the square. There will be Christmas carolers, Santa& Mrs. Claus, food trucks, DJ and games, horse and carriage,snowslide, and more. This will be free to Harmony residents.
On December 24th in the Harmony Town Square, therewill be a Christmas service put on by Harmony Community Churchwhich starts at 6:00 pm. The service will be about 30 minutes andremember to bring your chairs. They read the Christmas story withcarolers as well and a short message on what this time of the yearis all about.
Give The Kids The World Village Works Magic ForChildren Who Are Ill
Give Kids The World Village has a mission to providecritically ill children and their families with a magical week-longvacation at no cost. Each sponsor pays for a house in which thechildren and their families stay in for their vacation. The Villageitself is like a mini amusement park and everything is free whichis awesome! People can visit the Village and see the beautifullights for the Holidays. There are different fee’s dependingon the time of year and it’s all for a great cause, to helpthe children who are ill.
