Jeanine is joined by her co-host Kristin Macari owner of StudioNine 13. Welcome to the 15th episode of Discover Harmony Florida.Kristin started by saying there are some local events in Harmony Florida and thegreater St. Cloud area for April and asked Jeanine to sharethem.

Jeanine said we have 3 local events in Harmony Florida happeningthis month. We will also share what events are happening in St.Cloud as well. Harmony is a part of St. Cloud, and we don’twant you to miss anything.

On Sunday, April 10th from 2-5 pm in the town squarewe will be having our spring market and Easter extravaganza. Thecost for vendors is $20 in order to secure a booth. You can reachout to Jennifer Abramson, the Harmony activities director for helpwith that. Her email is harmonyactivitydirector@gmail.com.Kristin added that we don’t have the farmer’s market inHarmony on Sundays right now, so this is a great replacement.

For Harmony West residents only, there will be an event onSaturday, April 16th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Kristinsaid that Harmony West residents come to our local events so whycan’t we come to theirs? It’s Harmony, can’t wejust all get along? They will be doing an Easter egg hunt for ages2 to 12. They will also have Easter bunny photos, face painting,crafts, and food trucks.

Jeanine said that she thinks they are going to start competingwith each other when it comes to local events. Her advice to theorganizers on both sides if they want to keep the communitiesseparate is they should communicate and plan future events on thesame day and time to make things easier. Kristin stated if it wereup to Jeanine and her, we would all get along and have one eventfor both communities.

If you are looking for an Easter service in your community onApril 17th at 8:00 AM Dr. Danny Purvis is the Pastor atHarmony Community Church. He will be out in the squarein the little Amphitheater area so bring your chairs as the groundmight be a little damp. Jeanine said that it is not a very longservice as in years past where it started later, and it ran longer,and it was getting too warm, hence the change.

Let’s switch gears to the local events in St. Cloud, FL.Jeanine said there will be an adult nutrition class on Thursday,April 7th from 10-11 am and then again from 6-7 pm atnight. This event will be held at Hopkins Park. There is no fee to attend. So, anyonewho wants to learn more about nutrition should attend.

Kristin stated that they are going to be talking about mealplanning. That is her Achilles’ heel. She doesn’t likemeal planning or cooking and would rather order out.

Adult Moonlight Egg Hunt In St. Cloud FL

Then, on April 8th is the Adult Moonlight Egg Hunt inSt. Cloud. Jeanine said you must be 21 or older for this one. Whyis that you ask? Because there will be alcohol. This local eventwill be held from 7-10 pm at TheRanch at St. Cloud. Admission will be $15 a person. They willbe a DJ and dancing with food and drinks available for purchase andthey will have candy-filled eggs and prizes.

Next, we have the Sponge Bob musical which will be held on April8th, 9th, and 15th at 7:00 PM.Other dates and times are April 10th &16th at 2:00 PM. All performances will be held atSt. CloudHigh School. Tickets will be $8 for students, $15 for adults,and $10 for seniors.

The Bluegrass Jam takes place on Saturday, April 9th,and will be held at Peghorn Nature Park from 11 – 1 pm. Theywill have live acoustic bluegrass music inside St. Cloud’shistoric cannery.

Jeanine reminded everyone not to forget about the blood bankwhich happens every other month and takes place at the St. CloudCommunity center. It will be on Wednesday, April 18thfrom 2 – 7 pm. They provide a free steak dinner which Jeanineand Corcoran Connect will be sponsoring.

Easter Egg Extravaganza At The St. Cloud CommunityCenter

The Easter Egg Extravaganza is being held on Saturday, April16th at the St. CloudCommunity Center from 11 – 1 pm. This event will be $5per person, and they will only be accepting cash. This will be forages 3-12. There will be an Easter egg hunt, games, crafts,vendors, food trucks, an ice cream truck, and a bounce house.

The adult movie matinee will be on Wednesday, April20th from 12:30 – 2:19 pm. The featured movie isThe Magic of Belle Isle starring Morgan Freeman and VirginiaMadsen. It is rated PG and will be held at the St. Cloud Communitycenter for ages 18 and older. Admission is free.

There is an adult trip to Wachee Spring State Park taking placeon Thursday, April 21st. Everyone will meet at the St.Cloud Community center at 6:30 am and you return at 7:00 pm. Thecost is $65 per person. This fee includes round triptransportation, admission to the park, wilderness river cruise,ranger and mermaid shows, and a goodie bag. Pre-registration isrequired for this event.

There will be a fishing derby on Saturday, April 23rdon Budinger Ave across from the St. Cloud Elementary school. Thisevent will be $10 a person. It will be shore fishing only. Bringyour own fishing pole. Bait will be provided. There will bedifferent age groups. There will be the “tadpoles” for3-5 years old, half-pints from 6-8 years old, and minnows from 9– 12 years old.

Earth Day At Peghorn Nature Park In Saint CloudFL

Next up is Earth Day on Saturday, April 23rd from 11– 2 pm at Peghorn Nature Park. They invite people to jointhem and help clean up the park. There will be environmentalexhibitors, crafts, live music, giveaways, and food trucks. Jeaninesaid it sounds like a fun day.

Next, we have a lunch and learn fitness awareness event onWednesday, April 27th from 11 – 1 pm at the MarinaBanquet hall. They will be talking about all the different ways youcan stay active and increase your fitness levels. It is sponsoredby Humana and registration is required to ensure everyone has ameal. The cost is only $1.00 per person.

Jeanine reminded us about the St. Cloud downtown monthly markettaking place on Wednesday, April 27th from 5 – 9pm. The list of vendors is growing as well as the peopleattending.

There is another adult nutrition class which will be held onThursday, May 5th from 10-11 am and then from 6-7 pm.This event will be free and will be located at 620 E.17th Street in St. Cloud.

Discover Harmony Florida Helping To Raise The AwarenessOf Community Members On Local Events

Saint Cloud will be hosting many local events in April. This issmall-town living but they do it big with many great events foreveryone to enjoy the community they live in.

Jeanine believes that there are many people in Harmony and St.Cloud that are unaware of all the great events happening in theircommunity. One of the reasons we are doing the Discover HarmonyFlorida podcast is to help raise awareness of just how amazing ourcommunity is so people know all that is going on.
